Located in Nevogilde, within Porto’s Foz area, Nomad Eden is a residential project shaped by the proximity between the Atlantic coastline, the city park, and a consolidated urban fabric. The proposal responds to this condition by balancing openness towards the landscape with a contained relationship to its immediate surroundings, framing housing as a mediator between city, climate, and everyday domestic life.

The development comprises 43 apartments, ranging from one-bedroom units to larger rooftop residences. The building is organised through a sequence of horizontal volumes that articulate terraces and outdoor spaces, allowing each dwelling to maintain a close relationship with the exterior while preserving privacy and domestic calm. This horizontal emphasis informs both the architectural expression and the internal organisation of the apartments.

Interior layouts are conceived to support continuity between indoor and outdoor living. Carefully proportioned openings allow light, air, and landscape to become integral components of daily life, rather than added amenities. The architectural language remains restrained, relying on proportion, alignment, and material coherence rather than expressive gesture.

Environmental performance is integrated as a project premise, as the building is designed to achieve BREEAM certification and incorporates approximately 1,600 square metres of solar panels. Orientation, envelope design, and material selection are coordinated to reduce energy demand and support long-term operational efficiency.

Through the articulation of volumes, terraces, and interior layouts, the project establishes a measured relationship between built form, landscape, and climate, supporting everyday domestic life through continuity, proportion, and careful control of openness and enclosure.
